Solved: Waiting for the printer to become available Mac | MacOS | USB printer

Printer used: HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 1515.
Installed driver: HP Deskjet 1510 Series
OS: macOS Catalina 10.15.2 (19C57)
Laptop Model: MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015)

The following steps are copied from Apple support link.
I have modified the steps below the way I executed it.
It is little different from the support site.
These below steps will resolve the printing issue which says "Waiting for the printer to become available".

Steps to Follow:
  • If your printer is connected to your Mac, disconnect the cable from your Mac.
  • Turn off your printer.
Reset the printing system
This removes all printers and scanners including their print jobs and settings from Printers > Scanners preferences.
  1. Click on Apple icon (on the top left corner) menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners.
  2. While holding down the Control key on your keyboard, click anywhere in the list of devices.
  3. Choose “Reset printing system” from the menu that appear.
  • If nothing listed there, then move on to next step below.
Remove printer drivers
Take these steps to remove any currently installed printer drivers. These steps don't apply to AirPrint printers.
  1. From the menu bar in the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder. Type /Library/Printers/ and click Go.
  2. The Printers folder opens. Choose Edit > Select All, which selects all items in the Printers folder.
  3. Choose File > New Folder with Selection, which puts all of the selected items into a new folder named "New Folder With Items"
  • To save storage space, you can delete this folder.
Installing the Printer drivers (Provided by Apple)
  1. Reconnect your printer to your Mac.
  2. Turn on your printer and wait for it to finish starting up.
  3. Click on Apple icon (on the top left corner) menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners.
  4. Select your printer in the list of devices.
  5. If your printer doesn't appear in the list of devices in Printers & Scanners preferences, click + at the bottom of the list, then choose the preferred Printer or Scanner from the list.
Note: Just above the "Add" button (Screenshot above), you will see the text confirming:
"This selected printer software is available from Apple. Click Add to download it and add this printer."

Your Mac automatically downloads the latest software for most printers as part of these updates, so it's best not to install software from the printer manufacturer.
Thats it!
Hope this saves your time and effort.
Thanks!
